VACATION!!!!! PCB '09!!!!!

We had the BEST vacation this year! We left on Friday night, Sept 4th at about 7pm, figuring Parker would watch a movie for a few hours then drift on to sleep and we could just scoop him up and put him in the bed when we got to our condo. Oh boy were we WRONG! At 11:30 after I had to move from the front seat to the backseat with him and lay my head beside him and "hug" him, he FINALLY fell asleep.

We got to the condo about 2am GA time, 1am PCB time and we pulled right in and to the tower that I thought our condo was in. Steven went inside to go set up the pack-n-play while I stayed in the car with Parker to make sure he did not wake up. A few minutes later Steven came back and said Condo 212 was not a corner condo and it didn't have a key hole but a card lock. So I went in and tried the rooms around it wondering if I had been told the wrong room number. Nope none of them worked! So I come back out of the tower and who do I see smiling at me through the window of the car, yup PARKER! He was wide awake and excited and I was super frustrated.

So we went to the security guard and asked if he could look up the room or the tower for us. Since we were staying in a private condo (the CEO of my company owns it and only charges us $110 a night for a 3br 3 bath condo that over looks the beach and pool!!!) it was hard to find out. The security guard sent us to the front office, the front office sent us back to the security guard. Finally we figured out that we were in the wrong tower. We went to the right tower and went straight up to our room. Parker started running through the condo squealing with excitement (remember its 2am) and so did Steven when he found the closet that had all of the toys for the beach in it. It had skim boards, boogie boards, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, buckets, shovels, snorkles, etc etc.

This was our first morning here. Jess, John and Mya drove down Saturday morning and got there as we were eating breakfast. Check out their faces in these two pictures, Mya "stole" one of Parker's french toast sticks.

Unloading the cart, they decided that it was a climbing toy.

Ahhh, finally on the beach with our toes in the sand! Parker really hated the sand at first. He would pull his knees to his chest and cry for us to hold him. But that didn't last very long until he was running around everywhere!

Boogie Boarding, they BOTH really loved this!

After we came back from the beach on that first day, Steven, Mya and I laid in our bed and talked and acted "silly" for a while.

On Sunday morning Mya helped her Aunt Ted make french toast for everyones breakfast while they all still slept. I was looking super rough and sunburnt!

This is what the kids looked like every morning when they got up. Cuddled up watching cartoons.

Day 2 at the beach

He LOVED the sand this day. He would just roll around all in it. Oh, and throw handfuls of it towards the water or anyone standing in his way (poor Mya and several people that walked by).

Having a snack and some juice under the umbrella.

Mya put on Parker's Spongebob sunglasses that he refused to wear and he was looking at her like "heeey, aren't those mine?"

Burying Uncle John

Burying Aunt Jess

Then Mya wanted us to bury her too!

After the beach we went to the pool.

Sunday afternoon we went to Captain Anderson's Marina and looked at all the fishing boats. There were two boats there with my name :)

After we left the marina we headed to eat dinner at Sharky's. They had a cool playground on the beach with a pirate ship and swingset. They also had volleyball nets set up on the beach. The kids plate's were frisbee's so you could play frisbee on the beach too! Dinner was very very good.

While we were waiting for dinner to come out, I took some pictures. I told Mya to smile and she pretended to be asleep.

Eating a tomato...he does not take that after his mother.

Monday morning was kind of a rainy morning, so we spend until about 11:30 inside watching tv and relaxing.

When we went out to the beach there was hardly anyone there. It could have been the rain, but since it was Labor Day most people were probably headed back home that day.

We broke out Parker's new frisbee and played on the beach.

Then Parker decided it was time to walk up and down and up and down the beach. At one point we were 6 hotels away and we couldn't get him to turn around to go back. Everyone we would pass he would wave at and say "HI".

Jess, John and Mya came to the beach after going to the pool and we built a sandcastle. Not the best sandcastle ever, but it sure did impress the kids.

He got to tear down the sandcastle.

Again, I told her to smile for the camera.

Steven got a pretty bad sunburn even though we all lathered up really well with Parkers SPF 55, so he took a nap when Parker did. This is what I found when I went in to grab something! It wasn't even his! EWW!

Tuesday morning we had breakfast at the poolisde restaurant.

He actually touched the lense of my camera.

They were playing music at the pool and he was telling us he could hear it haha.

The view from our balcony right before we had to leave. It was so sad to go!

We left at 4:45 and got home at 10:45. I sat in the back with Parker the whole way and we watched Cars...twice. Oh, and he didn't close his eyes not once on the way back. 6 hours and not a wink. He sure did sleep in at home on Wednesday morning though! We can not wait to go back next year!
