Slots, Pool and Pinball

Last night was the first time Parker has gotten to go into the basement to play with all of Steven's toys. He loved the pool table more than anything!

Mya was really into pinball this time, and she did a pretty good job too!

Parker liked the slot machine for a minute, but it didn't hold his interest long.

Mya playing pool!
Of course, she won on her third pulll, so the game sang to us for about 20 minutes, she kept screaming for it to stop!

My Little Climber

Boy, do I have my hands full...and I blame it all on Steven's genetics! Monday night Parker and I got home and started our nightly routine. We went upstairs and let Dixie out, then I opened the front door to let her go out and use the bathroom. I always close the door, but don't shut it all the way so that Dixie can get back in. She always runs back in TWO seconds after she uses the bathroom. So, I'm unloading Parker's bag and his lunch box, and I see Dixie run past me to her food bowl and I think to myself..."hmmm, Parker has been quiet a GOOD 45 seconds or so, which isn't normal for him". I precede to walk into the livingroom to see the front door standing WIDE OPEN!!!!! My heart literally stopped and I ran to the front door thinking that he had fallen off the porch, or had somehow already made it to the street. Nope, there he was, standing in the bushes (still not sure how he made it off the front porch without seriously hurting himself), and he looked at me and started laughing!! UGHHHHH! Now I see how people say, "I only turned my back for a second"...its SO possible!

So, after I calmed down from that, I started cooking dinner. I was grilling some fish out on the deck, and making skillet onions and potatos inside. I ran in from the grill to stir the potatos and turned back around and THIS IS WHAT I SEE!!!!!!!!

THE KID HAS LEARNED HOW TO CLIMB FROM THE FLOOR ONTO THE TABLE (WITHOUT MAKING ANY NOISE!)!!!!!!!! So, for the past two days, everytime I turn around I'm pulling him off of something. Coffee table, end tables, desk, his playroom table, and finally the dryer. By far I think the dryer might be his favorite of all, bc he shuts the door on himself and starts cracking up...definately NOT afraid of the dark.

But he is so dang cute isn't he??? hahahhaa

PARKER'S NEW PLAYROOM!!!!

This weekend we, (okay I) decided it was time to fix up Parker's playroom. I was very tired of all his stuff just sitting on the floor around the room, and not having enough room for everything that way. So, Friday night we started painting as soon as Parker went to bed, about 9pm and got finished with the painting at 2:30am (crazy I know, but we didn't want to paint all day on Saturday). Then Saturday, Steven spent the day working on building the shelves for the room. Sunday morning we went to IKEA and bought the finishing touches for the room, came home, Steven finished the shelves and we put everything together after Parker went to bed. We were FINALLY done at 10:30pm on Sunday night, whewwww! So yesterday when we got finished with dinner, we took Parker to the playroom for the "unveiling"!! And HE LOVESSSS IT!

Parker checking out the "Book Nook".

I think the Pelican might be his favorite thing haha, he loves to put stuff in there, close the pelican's mouth, and then open it right back up and take it out again!

The georgous shelves Steven made, it sure is nice to have a handy hubby!

Stuffed animal net and his new tunnel.

New table and chairs! Parker spent 30 mintues sitting here coloring!!! I will be framing his first beautiful picture and putting it up in the playroom!

Quiet time before bed, reading with Mama and Daddy in the Book Nook.

Dixie thinks this area is for her, she has spent the last two nights curled up sleeping on the rug.

Last night Parker got to taste his first Ice Cream Sandwich! Needless to say he loved it! He only ate about half of it (thank goodness since it was after dinner!) because he had eaten a lot of dinner.

Look at that little pinkie thrown out :) his Mama has always done that.

Fouth of July!

We had such an awsome Fourth of July this year. The only downside was Jess, John and Mya had gone to North Carolina camping with John's family, so we didn't get to spend the day with them. But, other than that, it was an awsome day!

Steven, Parker and I went to Mom and Randy's around 4:30. Parker played in the pool on their patio, (well more like in and out and in and out of the pool, but you get the idea). He also explored the most dangerous part of their back yard over and over again. They have a huge soded back yard with tons of space for him to run, but OH NO he wanted to be under the trees in the pinestraw with all the sticks and stumps, oh he sure is Steven's son!

Mom provided grilled sliders, chicken and hotdogs and I brought some homemade slowcooker baked beans and potato salad. Dinner was delicious and we all were so full afterwards, especially Parker who ate 2 hotdogs!

After dinner we waited for my cousins to get to Mom's then we were going to head up to the corner to the Gratis store where they were having a big celebration.

Here is Parker out front at Mom's waiting on everyone to get there.

Mandi, Robert and Abby, Casey and Dave, and Michael, Amy and Haley all got to Mom's about the same time, and we walked up to the Gratis Store. Abby loved Parker's wagon and they even ended up sharing some juice!!(shhhhh don't tell Mandi!!)

The first thing we did when we got up there was get in line for the pony rides so Parker, Abby and Haley could ride. Parker has some issues with "touching" anything he is not familiar with, hence his hands being out to his sides for most of the time he is on the pony. Steven finally did convince him to put his hand on the horn after a while.

Heres a shot of all three kids, Haley on the far left, Parker in the middle and Abby right in front of Parker.

Abby loved it so much she completely freaked out when she had to get off :(.

Uncle Dave bought arm bands for all the kids and grabbed Parker to take him down the big slide. I wasn't too sure how he would handle it, but he did really well and Steven ended up taking him over and over again! Abby liked it too!!

Steven got Parker his first snow cone while we were there, and he did not take it from his lips until it was COMPLETELY gone!! He had a snowcone mouth for a while afterwards!

Parker and Grandaddy watching the ponies.

Auntie Casey and Abby just hanging out, waiting for the fireworks to start.

About the time it got dark, we walked back to Mom and Randy's to watch the fireworks from their front porch. Steven and Parker played in the dark in the front yard until they started, right at 10pm.

The show started right at 10pm and lasted almost an hour. Parker just stared at them and reached for them. After about the first 15 minutes, Parker just laid back in the rocking chair with Steven and watched them until they were over. Once they were over, I put Parker in his p.j.'s loaded him in the car and took him straight home (of course he fell asleep on the way there), scooped him up and put him to bed. We had such a good day, and can't wait to do it again next year!

My lil Lawn Mower

Yet something else that Steven convinced me that Parker needs (I like how he uses the word need to me all the time, like its oxygen for the kid), a bubble lawnmower. Now, the point is to push it forward so it can make the bubbles, but Parker would rather drag it around than push it lol, does not go fast enough for him the other way.
