Halloween 2009

What a nasty night it was on Halloween this year! It was drizzly and rainy all night. We tried to wait a little while to go trick or treating, but it never really got any better. Last year our neighborhood was FULL of trick or treaters, but this year we were some of the only ones :(. But we still had a great time anyways. Mandi, Robert and Abby came over and the kids still racked up on some candy (should I say Steven did).

Me, Parker, Abby and my cousin Mandi

Having to hold the umbrella over the kids heads.

Their first house...they both actually knocked on the door! And Abby said trick or treat!

Parker didn't quite understand why he wasn't allowed to go inside the peoples houses, it was interesting to watch. And one house he actually made it past the lady and started up the stairs inside her house! I was actually a little embarrassed.

Trick or treat!! Gaga stayed at our house to pass out candy while we were gone. Parker loved the fact that he could actually go INSIDE this house.

Work H2O

Every year on Halloween(or the Friday before as it fell this year), my co-workers and I dress up and go out to eat. This year we went to Mexican and it was very yummy. I am very blessed with a great job and great co-workers.

Peg was an evil surgeon and doused herself up with some ketchup to look all bloody :)

Pumpkin Carving

The pumpkins that we got from Washington Farms were awesome ones, and they were super cheap too. Parker got a tiny one and a small one, and Steven and I got a really big one and we only paid $7. This year was pretty fun because Parker really did enjoy getting in on the carving action.

He was "drawing" the faces on like Mama did.

This is Parker's first ever photo he took himself. Steven and I were busy with the pumpkins and all of the sudden the camera flashes and Parker took a picture of us and started laughing!!

Washington Farms

This year we of course waited until the coldest and most windy day of the season to date, to go to Washington Farms in Watkinsville to get our pumpkins and to do the farm activities. We met up with my Mom, Jessie, John, Mya and my cousin Mandi, Robert and their daughter Abby. Even though it was very cold, we still had a great time. The kids loved the hayride and all the animals and the cold didnt seem to phase them in the least bit.

Mom, Jess, John and Mya left once it started to get dark and the rest of us decided it would be a good idea if we took Abby (who had just turned 2) and Parker through the corn maze. SO WRONG!! It was a terrible idea!! The first 20 minutes or so were fun, and we were all laughing. Then once we realized that we werent even half way through an hour into it, I started to panic and everyone else was grumpy too. Carrying two kids through dark corn at night in the cold is NOT RECOMMENDED!!! I don't know what it is that I thought we were going to do? Maybe during the day time the kids could have gotten down and run? But probably not because there were so many adults. Who knows, but we will NEVER make that mistake again. CORN MAZE = TORTURE! So of course, Parker started freaking out and crying at one point...so I made it my mission to get us the hell out of there. I found a guy that worked there and told him we needed out NOW. He walked us back to the entrance (since we were closer to that than the finish, gah!) and we basically all ran for our cars and never looked back! Hahaha, we all laugh about it now, but it sure was not funny when we were in the middle of CORN HELL! It will be a fun story to tell the kids when they get older though, and we had a great time up until that point :)

Here we are about to enter CORN HELL.
