Slides and Shakes

Last night I picked up Little Caesar's on the way home from work, so dinner was done and cleaned up by 6. We decided to take Parker and Dixie to the Gratis park for a little while to get some energy out. This is the first time I've been to the park where Parker has been able to climb up and slide down the slide all by himself. He would climb up the stairs, sit down at the slide, turn over on his belly and push himself down. He did it over and over again and had so much fun with it. We spent some time swinging and running around. I really LOVE fall weather!

On the way home we went through McD's and got Steven and I chocolate milkshakes and got Parker an empty kids cup so he could have a little taste. When he took his first sip, he got a HUGE grin on his face and said "AHHHHHHH". It was so cute and funny, he should have been on a commercial. He did not take the straw out of his mouth the whole way home, and when I'd hear him slurping air, he'd hold the cup up and say "yeah yeah yeah" nodding his head, meaning he wanted more. Too cute!

Mr. Mohawk

Last night we were enjoying the beautiful fall weather on the back porch and Parker kept asking me for "bubbuhs" so we broke out the bubbles and I was blowing them to him. He has learned how to blow them too, but most of the time tries to "drink" them off the wand. He got so many bubbles in his hair that I stuck it up in a mohawk...so cute :)

Not so little anymore

The other day Steven babysat our 3 month old niece for a few hours. So, Steven went to the basement and pulled out Parker's Jungle Jumper which she loved. Well, as soon as she left Parker desperately wanted to get into the thing, so I figured why not, he would probably only stay in for a few seconds once he realized he couldn't go anywhere. Boy was I wrong! He stayed in there for 45 minutes, eating a snack and watching tv. He did the same thing the next day and the next day! Who knew?!

Update September 09

It's been a while since I actually just wrote an update on Parker and all of the things he is doing these days. His vocabulary is increasing every day. His favorite new words are "buu bouuus" (bubbles), bah (ball), out and duck. He is still saying; juice, i want that, dixie, mama, daddddy, gaga, mya, aunt jess, unnn john and several more. The kid eats like a champ most of the time and will eat whatever we are eating, but his favorite is chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese just like every other kid in America I suppose. He also LOVES broccoli pasta and would eat 2 pots of it if I would let him. He doesn't walk anymore, he is always running everywhere but he is very good on his feet and doesn't fall very much anymore. He gives hugs and kisses and also hits us sometimes (were working on that). His favorite is to give Dixie hugs and kisses obsessively. Its also pretty crazy that he pretty much comprehends what we are saying to him now. We can say "where's elmo?" and hell throw his hands up like "I dont know" then he'll point at his diaper like "OOOH there's Elmo!". Or "where's your paypay/b/daddy" etc and he knows exactly what your talking about. It's hard to believe that I am saying this again but this is my favorite stage so far. Every day I love the kid more and more if thats possible and I couldn't imagine my life without him.

Dirty Boy

So after being stuck in the house all day on Saturday, the weather was very nice and "fall-like" yesterday. After Parker's nap we decided to go outside and play for a while. Parker played with sidewalk chalk, we flew a kite (that Steven attached to a fishing pole so the kite got so high up you could barely see it, sooo much fun), he ate some cheese puffs, and we pulled his slide into the front yard. After about 2 hours, this is what my child looked like. ALL BOY AND ABSOLUTELY FILTHY!

He was bringing me a flower, and he was sniffing it...too cute.

Steven aka Breakfast Table

Mya spent the night with us last night and this morning Steven, Mya and Parker sat and watched cartoons, drank fruit smoothies and ate their cereal. It was too cute not to share.

Gwinnett County Fair

Finally after the 2 weeks straight (or so it seemed) of rain, there were two nice days in a row. So we decided to take Parker to the fair last night. We had so much fun! It's funny that your definition of "fun" changes when you become a parent. Used to Steven and I would stay at the fair for hours and hours, riding rides, walking around and hanging out with friends and would say that was fun. This year, we spent almost 30 minutes in the 4H petting zoo alone, walked around and just looked at lights and ate a funnel cake and we had so much fun. The petting zoo was worth the trip out there just to see how much Parker loved it.

We started off by looking at the livestock. I kept saying "those are the biggest cows I have ever seen!" Well, they weren't cows, they were oxen (haha who knew?!). Parker now knows how to say "mooooooo" when he sees a cow, its so cute.

Then we hit up the 4H petting zoo. Parker ran around like a little maniac from thing to thing touching, petting, squealing and clapping. When I was getting him dressed to go I kept saying, "Parker do you want to go to the fair to see the ducks?" and he would nod and say "duck duck". We spent a good 30 minutes in here just watching him look and pet all the animals.

After we left the petting zoo we just walked around for a little while and let Parker look at the lights and all of the people. Then we let him play one game, where you pick up the ducks and you win a prize based on what you pick up. Well Parker didnt care about the prize, so he threw it on the ground and did a 180 to head back to get another duck. That's why Steven's cracking up in the picture.

Then we ran into Steven's sister and niece, or as Parker calls her "my baby".

Ahhh and the best part, right before we left we got a funnel cake. I was so excited for Parker to try one because Steven and I love them so much. Well, he did like it, but he only took a few bites then he wanted to eat his goldfish that I had given him earlier.

This was right as we got in the car to head home, he fell asleep literally two minutes later.

Of course the sleep he got on the way home was just a nap apparently. We got him home, in his pj's and put him right to bed. About 45 minutes later he woke up and was up for 2 hours.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

I will always remember my 26th birthday as the day where Atlanta had all of the floods! We were going to take Parker to the Gwinnett County Fair, but the weather was horrific and scary so we pretty much just stayed home all day (I had taken the day off work). About 3 we decided to go get my tag renewed, (what a crappy birthday present), swing by Jessie's for a bit to let Parker play with Mya, maybe go out to dinner and then go to the grocery store. Once we got to Jessie's the weather had picked up again and it was pouring outside. We started getting concerned about roads and making it home if we waited any longer so we swung in and got some chinese food for dinner and slowly drove home. We were very blessed that we did not have any water damage at all and that all of our loved ones are safe and sound. There are a lot of people in the Atlanta area that arent so fortunate. Six Flags is completely under water, a 2 year old little boy lost his life when he was pulled from his father's arms after the mobile home they lived in was smashed in half and they were pulled downstream, and a woman in Lawrenceville (where I work) was wisked away in the flood waters in her car and drowned before anyone could get to her to save her. There are also many more who were hurt, injured, missing or lost everything they had.

My baby has been drinking out of a regular cup at meal times and has been doing great! Of course there is the occasional full lap of water or milk :)

Eating chinese dinner for Mommy's birthday :) He LOVES Seseme Chicken!

Stars N Strikes

Sunday night we went out for my birthday again. A co-worker of mine gave us a coupon for 2 hours of free bowling, free shoe rentals and 4 free $5 game cards to stars n strikes, so we met Mom, Randy, Jessie, John and Mya up there to bowl and play some games. Parker has been very attached to Steven lately as Steven lost his job a few weeks ago and has been staying home with Parker. So everytime anyone other than Steven would even look at him (including me haha) Parker would go NUTS screaming for his Dada. We had a great time. I won the game :), we had beer, fries, chips and queso and mozzerella sticks that were all delicious. Once we finished our game we went into the arcade and spent our free game cards. I love that place and will be going back all the time.

Gaga and Mya trying to find the perfect bowling ball.

Randy split his hand open 2 weeks ago at work and had to have a ton of stitches, so he didn't get to bowl, but he did get to eat and play in the arcade.

I was so nervous that his hands were going to get smushed or ripped off by the ball return!

There's my boys, attached at the hip!

Ahhh, he did let Momma hold him for a few minutes.

Two of my favorite people on earth!
